Summary of the project

As a green, eco-travel business, FitCamp Montenegro is committed to pushing the boundaries of sustainability and responsible tourism in Montenegro. We are excited to leverage COSME support to introduce innovative enhancements to our services that will not only benefit our business but also contribute positively to the local environment and community. Expected Impacts • Empowered Local Community: Through the workshop and the introduction of a recycling yard, we anticipate an educated and environmentally conscious local community that actively “reuses, reduces and recycles” and values its surroundings. • Enhanced Waste Management: The establishment of our recycling yard will contribute to improved waste management practices in our community, reducing or even eliminating environmental hazards. • Promotion of Dark Skies: Our stargazing guided experience will shed light on locations in Montenegro with 0% light pollution, putting them on the map for stressed urban people, as well as nature and photography enthusiasts. • Cleaner Environment: With the local community actively engaged in recycling, we foresee a cleaner and healthier environment in our vicinity. • Slowing down the climate change on a micro level. Expected Outcomes • Workshop Completed: With the local community actively engaged in recycling, we foresee a cleaner and healthier environment in our vicinity, thanks to all the good things they learned at the workshop we organised within this project. • Reduced Waste in the Local Community: Thanks to our doings, workshop, and clean-ups. • Diverse Sustainable Travel Offerings: Central Montenegro will benefit from a richer array of sustainable travel options, including cycling, camping, hiking, and more. This expansion will create opportunities for fellow travel industry professionals in Niksic. • Quality Certifications: Our journey toward certifications like the Good Travel Seal, Bed & Bike, Bike Friendly Standard, and Stargazing license will elevate the quality and sustainability of our travel offerings. Expected Results • New Market Segments: By enhancing our offerings with these certifications, we anticipate attracting new segments of travellers, such as cyclists, adventure-seeking families, and eco-conscious explorers. • Bike-Friendly Destination: Our location will be recognised as bike-friendly, catering to cyclists seeking scenic routes and eco-friendly amenities. • Family-Friendly Retreat: The introduction of the Barefoot Trail will position us as a family-friendly destination, where guests of all ages can connect with nature. • Community Waste Reduction: Thanks to our recycling initiatives, we expect to witness a significant reduction in waste within our local community. • Increased Recycling: The local community will actively participate in recycling programs, contributing to a sustainable, circular economy.
